  • A couple of pics from Easter Sunday except for the oldest child who hides from the camera everytime I try to snap a picture!

Out of the mouths of babes.....

I had read a similar story about a little girl and her mother's necklace, but I was still amazed by my own experience with my baby boy.

I have to share something that I learned from my 2 year old just before Easter.  We were shopping at Lifeway for gifts when he got really restless and ready to go....it happens everytime I take him along shopping.  I was getting really aggravated with him so I tried to distract him by walking him around to look at all the "pretties".  The first thing he saw was a this picture below....."Forgiven".

He pointed at it and said, "A Jesus love me!"  I was shocked that he knew that was Jesus and connected it to the song.  I had taught him the song a few months ago but that is about as far as it has gone with trying to teach him about Jesus and God.  I am still new to this myself!  How wonderful and innocent is that one statement from a 2 year old!  He looked at several other things like a cross and a picture of the Last Supper and came to the same conclusion.....a Jesus loves me!  I got to thinking about it again today and how wonderful it is that even a child of God so small can see how truley simple it is.  Jesus loves us!  As adults we struggle with it, we wonder why and how and we don't see His love for us in all things like Alex did that day.  He may not understand it yet but God used him to speak to me that day.  We need to take the time to see God's love all around us, all the time.   Not just in images of crosses or paintings, but in life itself. Can you can see a "Jesus loves Me" today?

     HELD BY HIS HANDS - - -
    by Max Lucado

You and I are on a great climb. The wall is high, and the stakes are
    higher.

You took your first step the day you confessed Christ as the Son of
God. He gave you his harness—the Holy Spirit. In your hands he placed
    a rope—his Word.

Your first steps were confident and strong, but with the journey came
weariness, and with the height came fear. You lost your footing. You
lost your focus. You lost your grip, and you fell. For a moment,
which seemed like forever, you tumbled wildly. Out of control. Out of
    self-control. Disoriented. Dislodged. Falling.

But then the rope tightened, and the tumble ceased. You hung in the
harness and found it to be strong. You grasped the rope and found it
to be true. You looked at your guide and found Jesus securing your
soul. With a sheepish confession, you smiled at him and he smiled at
    you, and the journey resumed.

Now you are wiser. You have learned to go slowly. You are careful.
You are cautious, but you are also confident. You trust the rope. You
rely on the harness. And though you can’t see your guide, you know
him. You know he is strong. You know he is able to keep you from
    falling.

And you know you are only a few more steps from the top. So whatever
you do, don’t quit. Though your falls are great, his strength is
greater. You will make it. You will see the summit. You will stand at
the top. And when you get there, the first thing you’ll do is join
with all the others who have made the climb and sing this verse:

“To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you
before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the
only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through
Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore!
    Amen” (Jude 24 NIV).

  • Wow!  There is so much to say about the past few days.  Xtreme was amazing!  The FBC youth group was amazing!  I was so proud of those kids.  Each one of them was there for God.  They were there to worship, not just to see the bands and hear music but to do it all for Jesus.  I am so glad that I got the chance to go and be a part of it.  I had no idea just how powerful of an experience it would be.  I had no idea that God would be speaking to me directly!  For the first time I think in my life I opened up and let go and let God in.  It was a feeling like no other.  I don't really know how to describe it.  It was amazing and a little scary at the same time.  I was shaking and crying and it felt awesome!  Exepting Christ in my life has been something I have resisted for a long time.  Pride has kept me from God.  I still have a long way to go in my Faith but I am willing to take that journey!

I also have to say that I really enjoyed spending time with Zac.  I don't get to do that very often because of the little ones so it was really special to me.  It was great getting to know Carrie a little better too.  Buddy and Carrie, you two are wonderful together!  Love you all!
